So does this cat count towards quota? Is there a quota there?

Snow drove them down my arse.  This is the least amount of snow we’ve had in a decade.

More cats, more wolves, less food equals more encounters.   It’s not rocket science.

"Snow drove them down my arse" :yeah:......This is why they have lost all credibility with most hunters and with folks who spend more time in the woods than they do. I have a friend in the Methow that killed one under his house in August one year and know of another fella that seen one trying to cache a deer kill in one of his hay bails in his field in early October a couple years ago! Most of the cats I,ve seen in the last 10 years(Methow) have been from June-October, heck I saw one 2 years ago in July up Cub Creek and 4 years ago we seen 2 up around Buck Lake in June! Why they continue to make excuses for and coddle these things while our deer and elk herds spiral down the crapper is beyond me. I,m no conspiracy type but is there some sort of agenda or are they just that incompetent?

That unit is already closed, but yes problem cats have historically counted towards the quota for the GMU

This would be in unit 108 and the quota has already been met. The unit was shut down on Jan 1st.

Yet the cougar is still alive?

Had some help from' Rainshadow' and we went looking for the cat . Actually found fresh tracks up in the cliffs above the Lodge.  When Steve peaked over one of the cliffs , the cat was right below him  Boom!! Missed!! He probably still thinks about that shot. I actually put a treestand up in my back yard and stayed in it that night to see if the cat would come back . I heard chirping about 10:30 in the woods 100 yds up the hill but I did not see them.

It was loping away, knew we were on it, shoulda stopped to call 100yds earlier.....  (Still think about it all the time! Close my eyes and see it clear as day!)

excess cats have moved closer to neighborhoods in order to eat.

:nono: They are moving closer to town because we are killing too many.

I think he was referring to this post:

I'm just wondering what this has to do with cougar hunting and why its infecting my feed  :dunno:  coyotes eat pets every day.  Can we start a cougar section so people can post this stuff there and so I can ignore that board along with the wolf board
