Kids Exotic Rams- (BlackRiver Taxidermy)
« on: January 25, 2019, 01:37:07 PM »
Completed and headed back to their owners, a whole mess of exotic rams from the Four Aces Ranch in Oregon. Working with Titan Outdoors we select 10-12 kids between 9-14 years of age to go down with their parents to this ranch and spend a weekend doing outdoor activities in the pursuit to spark interest in hunting. Typically kids that are chosen are those that could never afford to hunt, have never been successful, or have a disability that hinders their physical ability to hike and hunt. The kids are then taken, along with their parent, on the 'hunt' for a 3/4 curl or better ram on this 5,500 sq acre ranch. The trophies are mounted up by myself and three other taxidermists and presented to the kids at the annual banquet. Here's a few of the rams that were harvested in March along with a few other rams that were taken by some of the Titan Outdoors crew and some of the kids parents that wanted to participate in the hunt as well. Great time and organization and seeing the kids get involved and excited about the outdoors is tremendous. Thought Id post a few photos of these rams to show the awesome differing colors and species. Thanks for looking! Joel/BRT

Sounds like a neat program.  Where do the animals come from?  Are they bred on the ranch or brought there from somewhere else?

Never heard of Titan Outdoors, but they sound like a quality organization. As usual, the taxidermy is top notch as well!

They buy a lot of them from other ranches and have them sent to the ranch as young animals. Caleb and his wife do a GREAT job with the ranch and have all kinds of other animals there as well. It’s definitely not a ‘pick and shoot’ hunt either! The ground is super rugged and steep and those animals are definitely wild!
