Chesaw wildlife area / buckhorn mtn.
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:53:10 AM »
Anyone hunt there in the last couple years? I used to hunt those areas mostly buckhorn but we would also check the wildlife area every once in a while . It had become such a zoo the last couple of years we were out there it wasn't worth going for us anymore. It seemed like it all changed when washington hunting & fishing news ran an article about the wildlife area . The last time i hunted the wildlife area there were literally deer drive teams on several of the hills i thought they only did that back east !

I have hunted the Chesaw area for the last 3 years since a friends dad got familar with it while working there.  I have seen some big deer but have not had the chance to take them down other than an average size 3 point mule deer.  Last year was crazy with how many people were in that area.

Those areas are very well known, especially since WDFW had a huge article out last year about the wildlife area. Lots of people, lots of miners driving it daily. Most of the game is more than a mile from the road.

If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.
