The Glock 43x and Armscor VR 80 shotgun
« on: January 27, 2019, 02:52:12 PM »
I went by one of my favorite hole in the wall gun shops to say hi on Friday and I stumbled on to two different guns that, I hate to admit, actually got my attention.

I'm a die hard Glock hater despite the fact that I've owned well over half of their different models. I just don't like how they fit my hands and I've never had one that I could shoot as well as I can shoot a 1911 or revolver. That said, I really like the little G43x. It fit my hand well and actually pointed pointed really well for me. I got a chance to run two mags through it and it shot pretty well for me too. I can't remember the price but it was around $450 I think. If I didn't hate the 9mm and was in the market for a carry gun I might actually buy one of these.

The other one that got my attention was the Armscor VR 80 shotgun. It's purely a novelty/fun gun but I liked it more that I thought I would. I'm not big on the Saiga 12 but I did have one (and the 410 version) for a little while just because they were fun. I shot 10 rounds through the VR 80 and unlike the Siaga 12s I've played with, the VR 80 functioned 100% with cheap target loads. The Saiga I had needed heavy loads to cycle even after it was broke in. The shop already swapped out the stock and got rid of the stupid factory one with the one piece grip/butt stock thing that comes on there so that was a plus. The trigger on the VR 80 was TERRIBLE, like dragging a cinder block down a gravel driveway kind of trigger pull. I don't know what I expected though. They had a little SIG Romeo red dot on there that was a better match than I would have expected.

I doubt I'd ever buy either one of these guns but it was kind of fun to actually walk into a shop and find factory guns that I like for a change.

I'd like to try the G43x.

But I do like Glocks.

Glock has upped their game in the last few years. I am also one that does not care for the grip angle that Glock uses, but all the Glocks I have owned were workhorses that just always worked.

If you like the way Glock's function and shoot. Robar can tune the fit for you.

That VR80 is pretty cool, I have thought about buying one to chop up and try and see if one can be made race ready for 3-gun, they have 19 round mags ready to go for those...

Not a big Glock fan, but did pick up a 43 6 months ago, and do like it👍. Second Glock I've actually owned, and it feels good in the hand!
