I had heard we was looking at it.  Real nice if you have to defend yourself you will be open to all kinds of legal fees and new we can't get insurance to help.

Spin on behalf of the state for sure, your auto insurance is set up the same way.  They want to pretend there are no legal uses of a firearm that you can be unjustly prosecuted for.  The criminal court is just one thing this covers against, civil court is where the fun really is.  You can accumulate tens of thousands of dollars in protecting yourself in civil court for an action the state does not prosecute in criminal court.

NRA will fight it, guaranteed.  There are many other policies that cover POTENTIALLY criminal activities such as auto insurance, prepaid legal, etc.

"because they are illegal in the state and insure unlawful activity."
"the policies “give upfront money to policyholders for covered costs and expenses related to criminal defense for gun owners, even if the insured subsequently pleads guilty to or is convicted of a crime."

It's all wording.

Isn't it illegal to drive drunk? Yet, we have insurance policies that cover the car damage.
Isn't it illegal to speed? Yet, the car insurance will cover damages if/when you wreck the car.

hmmm

Are there any intelligent individuals left who still don't believe that gun rights are under attack?
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

I see stories online that California and New York have done the same thing. It must be an organized strategy.

Sadly, I think most caught on too late, we are on the way down that slippery slope. Apathy is destroying our rights and freedoms.

No, people caught on just in time! #3 Supreme Court pick will happen soon.. Ginsburg's health is poor. I predict she will step down soon.
If I need a permit and education to buy a firearm than women should need a permit and education  before getting an abortion.

Voting for Democrats is prima facie evidence you are a skirt wearing, low T, beta male. Do better.

I look down on the ACLU and so should all gun owners.

They spend more time on illegals than the 2A. In fact they have used the dishonest liberal argument that the national guard is the militia. Well the guard is under the authority of the government while the militias are supposed to be independent. So basically it's a right not recognized by the ACLU.
