Someone with Dem connections really needs to push for a hearing, not going any where, but the discussion would be telling.
Give Kretz a thumbs up!!!

Seems like a waste of time and tax payer dollars to me. We all know it's not gonna happen. By the amount of people on this forum who complain about wasting gov't money, I'm surprised I'm the first to mention it.

"Through a spokesman, Appleton declined to comment. The lethal-control policy that she proposes to end was developed by a Wolf Advisory Group that included the Humane Society of the United States and Defenders of Wildlife."

Members of the WAG, WDFW and DoW were sleeping together in the 1980's with their first wolf/grizzly bear push.

I disagree, JL. Legislators make an annual salary. This doesn't cost any more than the rest of legislation that is considered, and a lot of the rest of that legislation is more bizarre than this. Kretz makes some very good points. If the people in Puget Sound feel so strongly that we need wolves, they should reap what they sow.

I like, although I think they should amend it in committee to allow for lethal removal after wolves eat two children or one child and two cats or two dogs.  They need to give WDFW so room to manage.

So these cost no money to do?

Do yourself a favor and don’t think about the money wasted by the leg. Having worked there, I can tell you that there are hordes of people accomplishing very little. An extra bill drafted or ten is inconsequential to the money wasted.

Is it a waste of time? If Joe Neighbor who knows nothing about wolves but read Appleton's sheet, he might think that's a good idea since there's no oppositi.... oh nevermind, these people want to put them in my backyard too. I don't like the shenanigans necessarily, but is the game being played any other way right now? I just sat through a teleconference with the Oregon Farm Bureau - I loathe lobbyists, but you ain't getting it done without them or some of their tactics.

I'm really glad he dropped this bill.

Some twit from  Bainbridge Island wants to make them live with wolves, .........   Let her have wolves in her back yard.

The  absurdity of the bill attempts to make the point that many in the greater Seattle area fail to understand  because they arnt living with the consequences... one or 2 bill like this that dont even make it past the committee arnt as dangerous or wasteful as much of the other things actually passing in Olympia. 2c

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
