Thumb release suggestion
« on: February 11, 2019, 01:28:59 PM »
I am considering giving a thumb release a try this spring so see how I like it. My only hesitation is most of the ones I see that have decent reviews/specs are darn spendy and I hate to spend all that cash and not like it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced, user friendly version?

My whippersnapper is fairly reasonable at 120.00 or so. It took me about 6 months before I could consistently stop shooting the ceiling, though.

I finally got out to shoot my bow a few weeks ago and i don’t like the finger release that came with it.  Maybe I’ll get used to it, but i think it puts too much strain on my wrist that I injured before.

Just suck it up and buy whatever high end Carter or knock-on release you want to try. If you don't like it or want to try something else, throw it up for sale for 90%what you paid and someone will buy it quickly. I've come to find out, nice releases are like highend backpacks, They sell for high money and quickly.  The mid range stuff will not sell and you'll be disappointed you are having to price it at 50%or less to move it if you don't like.

↑↑↑ This, or ebay. Personally, I won't hunt with a target thumb style release. Too easy to drop. Too easy to bump the trigger in the heat of the moment. And it does happen.
