Yeah, I know. But those cutthroat sure are pretty.

I love Brook trout too, but I'm against non-native species if they disrupt an ecosystem.

A Nikon D7000, I have no idea what I’m doing with it though. Got lucky that those pictures turned out good!

Did you guys have to hike in to these lakes ? I tried to fish an alpine lake this year but couldn't cast out far enough to get in yo the deep water and the lake was pure muck around the outside so wading in wasn't an option.

That's awesome! Its been years since I have gotten up to the high lakes, was always a good time.

Yeah, all the lakes we fish are at least a couple miles from a trailhead. Some are more substantial than others. Not many people know about the lakes we fish  other than a few friends and family members, we keep the areas pretty tight lipped.

The two I posted pictures of we have to hike into but luckily both of them have deeper sections at one end so it’s not to hard to cast out to deeper water.

With a fly rod it is kinda tricky to cast with all of the trees. I tend to just roll cast, sometimes a float tube is the trick. It can make for a heavy pack, especially on an overnight trip but it is definitely worth it!

I prefer my Alpacka raft when I stock and survey high mtn lakes.
