.22 Rascal for kid?

Thinking about getting 7 year old one. Any input?

No experience with the rascal, but my girls started shooting their chipmunk at age 7.  Very accurate and safe rifle.  They can shoot a 2" steel spinner over and over and over at 40yds with the peep sight.

No issues.   Lots of fun.

Got two of them. Kids love to shoot them and they shoot surprisingly  straight.

No rascal, but I had a chipmunk for my kids too. Started them off with subsonics and a red dot sight when they were 3 and 5. Those little 22s make great truck guns too since they’re so small.

My kid has one. Good gun. Sights are good as is the trigger.

I bought two of them Rascles from the Fred Myers stote in snohomish for my grandsons two years ago 5 &6 years old. Very accurate with the factory peep sight. They love them and i admit i like shooting them myself.
Walmart has 500 packs of remington thunderbolts for $14.58n just over &16 with tax.

I buy one sometimes two packs of them a week.

I chose the CZ Scout based on my experience with other CZs.
The accuracy is amazing, better iron sights than what I saw on other youth rifles, and trigger upgrades are simple.
I can switch it to an adult stock and have a fantastic 16” rifle.

Make sure they can be loaded easily by little fingers. I bought a little kid's Henry single shot bolt that was hard to load as the shells had to be pushed into the chamber... no loading ramp.

Id go right for the 10/22. it will last them longer. that was my first gun when I was about 7 and I still have it.

When I let my kids shoot the 10/22's, my fingers hurt for a few days!
