ive warn the Cabela’s xpg for a couple years now. And my feet feel great. I’ve had very little wear issue but I bought quite a few pairs

I wear a merino outer layer over my liners. I like lorpens or my new favorite sock is the KUIU over calf merino socks, they have great padding and fit really good.

My xpg are all light or mid weight, like the thickness of normal socks. They have been very durable for me. My darn tough ones are all heavier weight.

Another vote for Darn Tough. I'd also suggest checking out FITS. Both just don't seem to ever wear out.

DT has different weights and lengths.

You ever feel like you live under a rock?  I never heard of Darn Tough socks before today.  I'll be checking them out!  :)

Same here,  Will have to look into the DT socks.   I did get started wearing Lorpens 2-3 years ago for hunting and no complaints, really glad I bought some.  Starting to think I should be wearing them all the time not just hiking and hunting.
In God we trust, all others bring cash.

Do not say, Why were the old days better than these? For it is not wise to ask such questions.

All mine just happen to be heavy weight over the calf ones. 2 sets came with my boots and the third was an impulse buy on a hunting trip. I’ve got 5-6 pairs of the xpg that just won’t wear out so I’ll keep using them.

I wasn’t meaning to imply that all the DTs are heavy.

I liked the old style. The new ones not so much. The old ones did wear out really fast but at the their price I couldn't complain. Just bought a lot :chuckle:

I can buy a 2 year supply of costco socks for the same price as 1 DT pair.

I wear darn tough for everything now and love them! I tried to wear a pair out using that pair exclusively for 6 months and couldn’t.
