I’m not even checking this year till I see everyone posting their results. Last year I probably looked like a crazed lunatic checking my phone way too often.  :o

3pts this year if I remember right. Not holding my breath. If anything I'll buy a reduced bear tag in Idaho.

My Dad is in with 7 points, Wife is in with 6, I'm in with 5, friend is in with 2.  I'm really hoping to be spending my spring in the mountains looking for bears.

I would say you have a decent chance with those points

Went in as a partnership that averaged out to 8 points. Put in for a couple tough to draw units and one easier one.

I put in for points (first year applying) but I am curious how people pick what unit they're going to hunt in? I spent some time trying to figure it out but it seems much harder than just general GMU math for ungulates. Anyone got any tips?

It's a long season, so I pick the permit that is closest to my home so that I can optimize time in the woods, including evenings and weekends.

I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

I usually pick the ones closest to home but this year I picked units I'm unfamiliar with in an effort to force myself out of my usual haunts and into some new territory. If I draw I'll be that guy asking for help for a unit he drew he hasnt been to in twenty years. Don't mind me  :chuckle:

Depends on what you are looking for. The north east units hold lots of bears and Turkeys, South East is hard to draw and potentially hard to access, West side is mostly company timber land with differing access and looking for bears creating tree damage.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I expect to draw with one point as I have virtually no time to hunt if I do draw.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

:bdid:  Not falling for it 6 days in, not even a slight chance.     Scary thought to think it would happen in my life time.  :yike:
