Bow sights.....
« on: March 05, 2019, 02:50:12 PM »
Looking up updating my HHA single pin which I love, but was thinking.....is there a 2 or 3 pin sight with vertical adjust??   I really can't stand the 5 to 7 pin sights as it is hard to focus one pin on the animal....my againg eyes I guess.  If I had a couple pins spread out and had the ability to adjust, that may be ideal.

My current set up is single pin kept at 30 yards.  Never adjust unless it is past 40 yards.  Most shots don't require adjusting except for at the range.

What sights do you have and like?

I'm using the spot hogg fast Eddie xl 2 pin. Love it!!! Set my top pin at 30 and my bottom pin is 42 pretty much covered to 50 with no movement.
Shut up and Hunt!

My eyes aren’t getting any younger either. It’s pretty hard to beat my montana black gold accent three pin slider. Had to finally swap my .010 pins to .019 a few weeks ago. Didn’t realize how much I was straining to see them until I swapped um out. Getting old sucks...

Small pins are too hard to see for sure. I shoot a 5 pin but with .029 pins. no problems seeing them.
I'm not sure.

I was looking at this one and had something very similar in mind.  May have to look a little closer at it...thanks for the response.

Yes, MBG are built well. I run one as well but mine is a five pin sight. I would go with a three pin slider though.

I sold my Spot Hogg Fast Eddie (It had a rattle I couldn't track down) for a Montana Black Gold 3 pin ascent. MBG are rock solid.

I've got the Montana black gold 5 pin slider,  going to take out a couple pins and make it a 3 pin.

5 pins makes me a bit crosseyed now I'm getting older

I have shot a 3 pin slider site for over 20 years. Both my bows are set up this way. I can shoot at the practice range out to 100 yards and when I hunt I just set my middle pin at 30 yards and lock it down. I get 20-30-40 for my hunting and that is all I need for my hunting.

The Montana Black Gold 3 pin looks like it might fit the bill just fine.  30-40-50.  Should never have to adjust in the field and at the range, I can slide it for the longer shots.

Not sure if it was mentioned but someone has a sight that has a fixed single pin, with adjustable multis. Kind of the best of both worlds.
Not quite sure who manufactured it but it it kind of blew me away. Had the adjustable multis for fixed set ranges (adjustable with allen key), Then a single adjustable one that was considered your "primary" and it was just on a slider like a normal single pin, So you could either dial in pinpoint accuracy, or throw up a general range for quicker acquisition.
If anyone can chime in on what model exactly what would help  :dunno:
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

That’s how mines set up. I’ve had to slide it in the field when antelope hunting. Shots can get out past 60 but for elk and for the most part mule deer  those three distances are really all you need. There rock solid
