Free: Contests & Raffles.
I picked that unit only because ive never been there, so I could see new country. More of an adventure. I will definitely try hard to fill my tag.
My new rifle wont be done until may 1. Then i have to sight it in. Not even thinking about going until the 3rd week of may.I hope to get up high and get some vantage and just glass. Spotting them is just as fun as getting a bear to me. Im about 4.5 hrs away so i will be sorta close. I will go enough days to get it done.
Will do. Nice thing for me is, is that I feel totally lucky to have the tag, so I see bear, .28 Nosler go boom. Except for sow, cub...grizzly I guess. I never saw a grizzly in sherman or 49. That would be bad, get excited to see a big old phase and not pay attention. Tell you the truth, Inhave not killed a black one, so if I saw 250 lb black male, done.

I might be going early if I keep seeing sun and green grass on the south slopes. I wasnt excited but now I am. Just want a tag filled and some meat!
Don't know if this was mentioned, BUT, I.E.P, Inland Empire Paper has land up there and YOU DO NEED one of their permits to access their land. They patrol and file trespass charges against you. I was told this straight from the people who sell permits..........

Anyone having any luck? We’ve been here for four days and have hunted all day each day. We’ve seen a sow with two cubs and two yearlings. Seems to be really slow in this unit? Covering lots of ground and not seeing very much sign is discouraging with only four days left for us.
