Deadhead
« on: March 19, 2019, 06:09:41 PM »
Apparently someone got lucky and found this guy yesterday.   Sad, as I was really looking forward to seeing how he'd look this year.

He was a beast! The rut is serious business.
Just tend your own and live.

Wow! I guess I missed this pic. That’s probably my new all time favorite of yours. Beautiful work! Feel like I’m there the way you captured it

Wow - what a toad.  Hopefully he was spreading those genes around before he went.  Thanks for the pic Bone.

I guess he was injured in the rut.   He shed one antler and laying next to it was the skull with one antler attached.  (haven't confirmed any of this)

Thank you!  That's my Calendar shot of him.  He is July I think.   I haven't posted much of him.   He garnered a lot of attention this fall from photographers all over and became an instant social media celebrity.  I was lucky and stumbled into him before word was out about him.   I had a couple nice shoots with him before the crowds hit.  The last time I saw him, there were probably 30 guys trying to get the shot of him.  Thats not my style.  We just walked away.
He morphed into a real monster from the year before.   I was really looking forward to seeing what hed look like this fall.   I figured Mossyback would have their client notch a tag on him.
