I wish! I tried to sell it into the wife as a good idea but I think my timing was off.  The day i got back from the kodiak goat hunt may have been too soon

I used to commercial fish up there but I never really did much exploring on land. Alaska has gotten in my blood now and I'm scheming my way to get back there sooner than later!

That's pretty much why I started this thread. I am looking to get back up there and chase some deer around. As was mentioned once you go there the desire to head back runs deep!!!

I'm not sure why that is either because it's fairly unpleasant roughly 100% of the time lol

What lodge was that you stay at again on that barren ground goat hunt?

So very true I spent 5 days on a sidehill in the wind, snow and rain under a tarp waiting for the wind to change directions so we could go after a bear.

Id go back if I could without a second thought. One of these days I want to stick with the Road System Hunt and see how much cheaper it is. In the past I had a skiff I'd launch from Anton Larsen and motor around to public  beaches to hike from there  (heard of a guy who did it in a kayak once). But I remember quite a few of my friends would ride Saltery to the magic line and kill their limit or would hike off the road system and fill the 3 tags easy.

I’m trying to get a trip together for August of 2020 on POW, something about being trapped on an island with all those brownies doesn’t make me want to do Kodiak, especially when I compare the costs and it seems I can do POW for about 80% of the cost

Not sure about this year but not too far off although POW in August is enticing too.
