I put in for deer and elk last year and got my multi season deer tag, I didn't get selected for elk.  The first day of archery deer I got a nice fat whitetail buck.  I just couldn't pass him up six pointer really good eating.

Rainier10, forgive me if I'm missing something, but how did you submit the apps if the hunts aren't even announced yet?

It would only let me submit the apps for multiseason deer and elk.  I bought the apps for elk, deer, antlerless, moose, goat, sheep, ewe yadda yadda yadda and will submit those in May.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

The one year I drew it, didnt need it because I got drawn for quality elk. 5 yrs ago with 5 pts....
I seem to draw deer every year. I seem to buy it if Indont draw a buck or quality deer tag. Rifle hunting without a permit is not much fun. Archery deer is really fun!

I put in for deer this year. First year in the last 7 that I have. I put in for elk for points every year. I will probably start putting in for elk next year for the actual draw. Will have 9 points by then and finally have a chance to put the time into it to take advantage of it if I were actually to be drawn.

Does anyone have a guess at when we will see the results of the multiseason draw?
I have been out of the game for them for so long that I dont know when they tend to publish the draw results for them.

Which area will you be hunting?

And here I thought I was the only guy who couldn't draw the deer tag.

I drew every year the first 6/7 when it started. The last 4/5 years it seems to be every other year now. Can always buy otc for deer when they go on sale. Always extras

More and more hunters are going to not be drawn since they implemented the rule to buy the app or you can't buy the left over.Still left overs in the end  :chuckle: so this is no doubt absolute proof on where this states mind is as far as money and hunters are.

I'd be in favor of making us front the money and giving refunds if you didn't draw like most western states do. Same with the OIL permits.

People at my local gun store will camp the extra elk permits. Like get there early with a chair and wait until the counter opens. I think there are always a couple from people that draw but decide to not do it. Last year the system crashed when it first opened.

I don't think the deer normally sell out. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if the state just prints more if needed.

No kidding.  It would greatly increased odds on the multi-season tags.
