What great investigative reporting.... I hate how most "news" articles barely have any more details than the headlines.I don't mind that they shot the cougar, there are plenty of them, but I wonder why killing a dog is means for termination, It just did what comes naturally.?
More pets were saved and possibly a child by killing this lion, for sure 50 more deer will live, way to many cats in this state, be ready for a lot more encounters and tragedies coming down the pike...
Just think if that would have been a young child walking with that person instead of a dog.
If they were hound hunted, even catch and release, it would not be an issue.
This happens more and more often and I would like to see WDFW address the issue. Do they have anything going on or was their last action to roll over and play dead when the hound hunting issue came up? It seems like the seasons, bag limits such could be expanded, tag costs lowered, etc, as well as a public campaign on the value of running dogs to protect people from the overpopulation. (AKA, do what the other states do as well as their charter by managing the wildlife).
