Got out last weekend
« on: April 01, 2019, 10:03:09 AM »
Went for a little backpacking/shed trip over the weekend. Had a great time and even found a few sheds.. still a ton of snow out there in the hills.

Thanks man! Super stoked to have found a few.  We put on some miles, but it was super fun out there and we were also trying out some new gear for our up coming elk season..

Looks like a good time!! Its never a bad day out there weather you find sheds, scouting, or just sitting on the side hill taking in the views.
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

Yeah, thanks guys. I agree sheds or not, it’s just fun being out there! So my tipi tent is the Redcliff by Seekoutside and the stove is the XL cylinder stove from Liteoutdoors. I’ve used it a few times, but this was the first time we used the stove over night for a long period. Really like it. It’s perfect for two guys, stove, gear and a night and a half worth of fire wood. If you don’t put your gear on there, easy for 3 guys, stove and wood. Let me tell you, this thing gets HOT! It was like a sweat lodge in there for awhile! Lol.. it’ll be perfect when it’s cold and wet out and you want to warm up and dry out some gear.
We’re going to use this for our backcountry elk hunt this year and there will be three of us going, so we’ll just make a “gear tarp” outside the tent and store wood under there as well..

I run a SO and stove myself. Once you start using one it’s like you can’t ever hunt without it. I have several shelters but the SO and stive seem to be the one I always grab. There’s nothing like setting your alarm for a half hour before you need to get up and starting that stove from inside your bag on a November morning.

3 guys in a redclif though? You boys must be really close friends. Least you will be i that tent  :chuckle:
