Trails for ATV riding in the Everett/Monroe area

Hi all,

I recently picked up an ATV (it is not street legal).  The plan is to use it around the house for some small projects, etc.  However I do spend some time with a 15 year old young man who would enjoy doing a little trail riding.

Are there any locations that someone can go to and do some riding? 

Being new to the world of ATV's (and not really seeing myself becoming a hard-core rider - I don't need another hobby!), I am at a bit of a loss.  The laws seem complicated. 

He lives in Everett and I am in Monroe so something within a 30-45 min drive of those two locations would be nice to know about!

I am not from that area but wonder if asking any of the atv dealers in the area would have some knowledge, or trail maps ?

Reiter pits near gold bar has some trails. Haven't been there since they redid the trail system but it used to be a cool place to ride.

Walker Valley. East of Mt Vernon.

This is probably the best area near you for what you want to do...Walker Valley ORV

There really is not very many places open to the general public to ride on in Western Washington

Walker Valley ORV is about he best place or head east.

Call the Snoqualime (SP) National Forest and ask the about motor vehicle use maps around your area. Washington State in not an ORV friendly state. Make sure you have your ORV license plate and tabs.

Since I moved out of the anti-ORV state of Washington, things might of changed. You only need the street legal equipment if you're driving on county roads od state roads. Yo might need it for driving on all Forest Circus roads. I don't want to give you the wrong info since I moved.

Get ahold of Nock Nock on here, BUT call the DOL too. Chris is very knowledgable on this subject.

They dont need plates just orv tabs I believe.
