A wild turkey was caught roosting on the deck of one of the hunter's cabins. I don't know if this turkey survived?

Tim from Ohio finished his turkey grand slam with a Washington Merriam's taken with guide Ray. They has been seeing a couple of monster gobblers that Tim wanted to tie his second tag on, he passed some average birds but didn't get either monster, they are still here waiting for another hunter to put the hammer down. Good job Tim, I look forward to having you back for your cougar hunt this winter in Idaho!

John returned again this year and nailed two jakes with one shot the first morning. Great shooting John, it was a blast hunting with you and Spencer again!

Spencer nailed a "Big Old Gobbler" after we did a perfect stalk. Then later in the day he smacked the "Gold Mine Gobbler" by the gold mine, LOL. Great shooting Spencer! Looking forward to seeing you and John again next spring!

Lots more photos to share when I get them rounded up and more hunters coming, we are having a great turkey season. Here's a photo of a blue grouse we saw a couple days ago. been seeing some ruffies too, hoping they have a good hatch this spring.

Bear are out, yesterday Daniel watched a brown sow with two yearlings in the same area we've already been seeing other black colored bears. The colder weather today will slow things down a bit, but every warm day will garner more bear movement.

Turkey hunting is awesome this year, two more hunters started hunting yesterday, one hunter got two jakes first thing in the morning and the other hunter missed two toms later in the day, they only have a half day to hunt today so I'm hoping hunter #2 has better luck today.

Brad from Maryland just left this morning. He's working on his grand slam, great guy, he hammered two beautiful Merriam's toms the first morning of his hunt. He says we'll see him again for another hunt. Nice going Brad! Thanks again!

Kellie got it done a short while ago, she nailed this nice tom and just delivered it to the taxidermist for mounting, congrats Kellie!

Another 5 birds down for the last three hunters, having an excellent season. Also three bear down this week, we started bear hunting Monday first hunter nailed a big old boar we tried to get last year that we nicknamed "Baldy", he squared 6'9". A nice cinnamon bear got away Tuesday that we should have had. Then yesterday two more boar bear were taken so we are tagged out until the next bear hunt next week. I'll try to get bear photos rounded up.

Here's two of our most recent turkey hunters, Glenn and Tammy traveled from Ohio to hunt Washington Merriam's. Glenn nailed his two birds on first day so Tammy decided she wanted to try to get a bird, she got it done in style! Congrats to both of them.

Yesterday was another great day, 4 birds taken, this is the first In the morning, then also bear scouted while bird hunting the rest of the day, saw three bear tracks during the day, after we killed the 4th bird we saw a nice sized blackie a half hour before dark. We have a bear Hunter arriving this evening to start hunting tommorow, we will be looking for the nice blackie. This is the morning bird yesterday.

Sitting in my office with my Hunter on top of the mountain listening for another gobble to go after. Right this morning we got busted by hens trying to set up on roosted cobblers, we backed off went after other birds. The next group was about 17 hens and two gobblers. We worked them for an hour or better, lead hen finally went the other way, of course gobblers filled, had to wait long time for them to get out of range, then made a move to where I thought they were going, got lucky and nailed one the gobblers, the other got away. Hopefully find another gobble soon or will go back and check on the birds we backed off of at daylight. Great shot on this bird.

The last four hunters only got 5 birds, one of them got two birds. We've been jaked out pretty much the last two days, probably seen 40-50+ jakes between the four hunters, one mature gobbler came in with two jakes and the hunter could not get a clear shot so he didn't shoot, another mature gobbler has no beard, bummer, so the hunter didn't shoot him either, they were only hunting for mature birds with all the usual turkey amenities! LOL

New hunter in camp got another good bird just before lunch today, a little over 20 pounds, 9 3/8 beard. That hunter is back out hunting for #2 bird now.

Daniel has a bear hunter out too, they have seen two bear so far but haven't had a shot opportunity yet. Hopefully that changes soon, the third time is a charm, right!
