Sandy's has changed some with the new owners who took over some 5 years ago, it's close to the old Sandy's though.  I go there for a burger once in a while or a soft serve ice cream.  It's not a big tavern style burger more of a fast food class of burger but they have other homestyle food too.

Backyard BBQ is worth a visit, about as good as any BBQ I've had and I've had a lot of BBQ in southern states like Georgia, NC, FL TX CA heck I can't remember half of it. 
It's not the absolute best BBQ I've ever had...but it's easily in the upper class of BBQ's and it's right here in this small town of Kettle Falls! and that to me is awesome! 

Tony's pizza in Colville makes some good pizza, small little out of the way place across from Walmart you can get a decent gyro or Italian dish. 

Plenty of bars around and most of them make a good burger, TJ's in Kettle Falls ranks near the top.  They also do good fish.  Acorn in Colville also comes to mind.

little Galea in Kettle falls is the gold standard for a good lunch, but they close by 2pm, they also make the best breakfast around.  large plates, bring empty belly.

We also have some brewery's offering up food.

one near Zips I've yet to try on the south end of town but it's getting quite a bit of attention, I need to get in.   
The one in Kettle Falls behind little Galea,  across the street from harvest foods,  makes pizza and dogs and some other stuff.  Been too long since I've been in.

Backyard BBQ has the best food in the area, theyre in Kettle.  Sports Bar is decent also, Zips and all the other burger joints suck by comparison.  Oh ya, best breakfast in the area is in Kettle also, Little Gallea.

X2 for Little Gallea for Breakfast and Backyard BBQ for lunch/dinner

I agree with all the places that have been recommended.  If it happens to be around lunch time when your headed North don't forget to stop by Clayton just North of Deer Park to grab a Clayton Burger!!!

 Great place to get a beer in Republic is Republic brewing company. And the owner is a good guy. We need to support Ferry county also.

Tugboats in Curlew hands down has the best burgers, fries, shakes etc. B'fast aren't, but still very tasty if hungry.

What makes Colville Zips better than every other Zips? I grew up in Colville and I don't think I ever ate there haha. Ronnie D's was my go to place and it's not as good as it used to be but I like the small town burger joint feel of it so I still stop when I'm up visiting family.

The wife and I ended up eating both at Tony's and at Mavericks both were good. Next trip I will be closed to Kettle Falls and try out the BBQ place.

The breakfasts aren't Zips, there's a contract crew that comes in for the morning hours and do their own thing for breakfast. 


Lunch time it switches back to Zip's food for the rest of the day.

Oh.  Didn't know that.  That might change things.  I guess to figure that out, I would have to get through those doors with the Zips warning signs painted on them....
