Talked to a friend of mine that was a teacher over in Ellensburg several years ago. He knew Ryan well and was very upset that this could happen to such a great guy. Praying that his family can somehow recover from their terrible loss.

Today was an incredible show of respect, pride and love!  A WSP sergeant who has been to numerous law enforcement related death ceremonies / funerals said, this was the hardest one he has ever experienced due to the overwhelming community support by over 10k kittitas  county residents who lined the streets of the procession! Over 300 law enforcement agencies and nearly 1000 vehicles showed up to make this a truly wonderful yet sad experience.  The memorial at Nicholson Pavilion was 2hrs of joyful memories shared, words of sadness and comforting words from scripture. I have never experienced anything with this level of reverence and love. It was a day that saw the toughest of men and women cry from the words of remembrance and the pure outpouring of support and love for an officer, husband, father and friend!  Stay safe out there men and women of law enforcement and We will miss you Officer Thompson!
