My step-son is doing archery this year and is really itching to get his first bowkill.
He is getting super excited with reading the regulations and found the 2nd deer tag for the 6020. I had told him I lived in Port Angeles for a little bit and that area would be easy for us to hunt for cheap as I can stay with friends up there. But they dont know much of hunting the area.
I see several WDFW wildlife areas in that area and I have hunted some like that down here so that is probably where I would start. But several of them talk about being catered towards waterfowl hunting and being the last couple weeks in Dec, I dont want to take him walking in on guys duck hunting.
Any tips on places to get a start there?
I have searched for info on the area but havent found much first hand info besides "...its mostly private..." "... too many greenies..." etc.
I like finding little access places close to town down here cause I tend to have good luck at them and little competition. But I dont know about up there.
I just want to be able to give my step-son solid advice. I dont want him to get all excited, get the tag, then not have anywhere to do any decent hunting.
Thank ya much.
