Eagle had Enough
« on: April 23, 2019, 10:42:11 AM »
The other day while fishing off the dock at Lake Meridian in Kent, I noticed a Seagull pestering a Bald Eagle.
He kept dive bombing him and trying to steal the fish he had just scooped up off the lake.
The Eagle finally had enough, dropping the fish as the Seagull dived at him, with a quick upside down maneuver he plunged both his talons into the Gull.
The last I saw of the Gull he was spiraling down to earth as the Eagle returned to retrieve his fish.  :yike:

That's awesome. I was watching the crows go after a hawk the other day. Good to know the raptors fight back once in a while.

Fished with a Native American chief back in Wisconsin on the reservation. Any blue gills he caught he would stun on the handrail of the boat and toss them 10’ out and the eagles would come in and scoop them up. Awesome having these giant birds that close.

Back in my guiding days in S.E. AK my clients and I watched a pair of crows dive bomb a bald eagle perched on a limb for about 20 minutes, eagle finally had enough and took off after them. We watched them head off shore and eventually lost sight of them, a few minutes later the eagle returned with 1 of the crows in his talons,  :chuckle:.
