Badlands 2200 or...?
« on: April 27, 2019, 07:08:34 PM »
I'm looking for a day pack that has the capability of hauling an elk quarter.

The Badlands 2200 is one pack that I am ccurrently considering. If anything it's probably a bit larger and heavier than I would normally need, but too much is better than too little.

Are there other packs with similar capacity to look at?
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Eberlestock x2 lays out a bit better, imo.  There has been a couple on here in the 100 dollar range.  I have been very tempted a couple times.  That said I have hauled a lot of game out in the couple 2200s I used to own.

   I have owned and used a lot of packs and pack systems. Nothing is perfect. That said for what its worth the BL 2200 is the only pack I have ever bought again or regretted selling. It just fills that niche for me, and I have gotten lots of use out of mine.

@Bmcox86
What’s that new Badlands pack you were talking about??

Upgrade to the 2800.  At just under 5 lbs it makes a great all around pack.  Good day pack and can haul a lot.  I've had 75 lb loads on mine (all I can handle anyway, I'm a bit worthless in that respect).  Don't get the BL hydration pack, that gave out on me in 1 season.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Take a look at Badlands diablo dos
It’s capacity is very similar to the 2200 but has the hypervent to take the pack off your back and keep your back breathing. I have one and love it
