That elk herd is growing nicely (largest elk herd east of the Mississippi). I've thought of putting in for Kentucky, as I've put in for quite a few other states. But never have done Kentucky.

I've thrown them a few $10 bills, their herd is growing nicely unlike somewhere else we won't mention. I think it's real long odds though and I'm not sure how I would pull that one off if I was drawn so I stopped applying. Same story with moose back east.

My daughter and son in law lived there for 5 years, lots of nice deer there, quantity and quality, he killed some nice bucks there and killed a real dandy on a Wounded Warrior hunt he was chosen for.

I remember my son in law telling me as soon and they got to Kentucky(he's military)the first thing he did was map out some public land to put out some cameras, he did so, in one week he had 17 DIFFERENT bucks on camera, 4 of which were absolute monsters! The trick is catching them moving from private to public during shooting time
. Lots of private in Kentucky, my son in law got to know some land owners, soon as they knew he was military they opened their gates and hearts to him, very patriotic folks down there. He is welcome back anytime, I can't remember how many tags he was allowed but it was multiple doe and at least one buck tag, lets put it this way, between he, my daughter and 2 granddaughters all hunting, they lived on venison year round AND donated to the landowners and to various food banks
....There is ALOT of deer in that state, the only predator to really compete with is black bear, everybody down there uses coyotes for target practice

Wow! They have a live streaming results release and they tell you exactly when the results will available? Imagine if ours was like that!
