What is the best bow sight for a decent price?

I just bought the Truglo carbon hybrid for 50 bucks off amazon and am quite happy with it so far. Easy to adjust, replacement pins are cheap, and it's lightweight.

I absolutely love my HHA. It is not exactly the cheapest but it is an amazing sight, easy to tune in and deadly accurate at 80 yards. What I love most about this is that you can use your range finder, smoothly and quickly turn the knob to that yardage and send it. No need to write down pin distances in case you forget or have the distraction of multi-pin.

just under $200 at amazon. Like it more than my old spot hog multi-pin. A LOT more.

I've got a truglo tool less on my current hunting bow. 5 pin. Cheap, reliable, bright pins. but on my NEW hunting rig I want to give the MBG ascent 3 pin mover a try.

I'm thinking of upgrading my setup as well, curious to the regulations about rheostat lights. I've noticed several models have them. Are they legal or do they fall under the no electronics rules of WA state?

Define "decently" priced.

Bow accessories in general seem ridiculously expensive, but it is what it is. I have been using MBG black gold 3 pin slider for several years and recently upgraded to the "pro" edition. The ascent rattled a bit, but was extremely solid and survived some pretty severe torture without changing POI. The pro has been great as well. Quieter and micro adjust is nice. Anything rugged that moves is going to cost. Solid fixed pins on the other hand are much cheaper.

Snohomitch...... lighted sights require a battery and are categorized as electronic attached to bow. Illegal in WA.

I plan on experimenting with very small glow sticks taped to the sight housing for artificial light in a blind. No batteries, covered with electrical tape so they can't be seen outside... I think it will work.

Cant have them, they just unscrew, still have mine in bow case, but per the regs "no elecrical or electronic devices except for illuminated nocks, attached to the bow or arrow while hunting"

a good single pin thats used, best bang for the buck. If you want a new one then ebay it, camofire and other sites can help. The best site is the one you can pull up on a bull or buck and fire right away. if you have to do any adjusting or any mental math then it would be something I would pass on.

I'm a spot hogg fan for hunting sights I don't think you can beat them only problem not cheap.

Another spot hogg vote here. I would discourage single pin slider to anyone hunting. Just last year alone I know of two guys that wounded elk because they each ranged and dialed in their single pin sliders. The elk came in closer and they had to guess where to place their pin because they drew their bows and were ready to shoot. The elk was too close to let down and readjust. I guess if you practice enough with one you could get good at making aiming adjustments.

Steelhead, I've had excellent luck with the Black Gold sights. For a hunting bow, I'd recommend just an old school four pin sight; set your pins, lock em down, and hit the elk woods

I think if you're a slider guy a 3 pin slider is a great option.

I run a option 4 from trophy taker/ option archery. I have 3 fixed pins and one slider. The 3 fixed pivot out of the way if I only want to use my slider. Great sight and very durable in my opinion. It is on the expensive side however.

2 votes for HHA sights. I however use the optimizer lite. Once sighted in these sights are money.

What is your favorite method of hunting? Treestand? Calling in bulls? Clearcuts or open spaces? I strongly believe your site should fit your technique.

Treestand: single pin slider might be for you, ample time to adjust sight and you most likely already know how far your prey stands when you see it. better sight picture here for the shot.

Calling 'em in: i prefer multiple pins cuz you never know how close they will be and whether you'll have time or not to adjust but a single pin slider could work here as well.

Still hunting: Definitely go with multiple pins, most of my shots still hunting happen so quick, I usually feel I don't have time to adjust.

Also, make every attempt to get that sight as far away from your eye as you comfortably can. I started with a sight that was short and tight to my bow. After replacing with a longer sight and pushing it away from my eye, my precision improved noticeably.

I would also suggest, that if you choose a multi pin sight that you carry an extra pin in your supplies of each color in your sight in case you break one off or lose one in brush. Fix the lost pin with the same color that was there before. After years of shooting a bow, when i draw back on an animal at 50 yards, my brain already knows through muscle memory that i use the yellow pin, don't have to count down which sight to use. In time, it becomes one less thing you gotta think about and calculate.

I have lost a pin once, replaced with wrong color (all I had) and when I'd draw back, something so simple threw me off just a bit, but hey, i'm no pro. Just keep it comfortable and simple as you can. I don't like single pin sliders, personally, cuz that means I need to account for 3 things to shoot instead of 2 (range, adjust, shoot versus range & shoot).

Spot Hogg, Black Gold and HHA make some great sights but there other options too. My spot hogg has taken a beating and been great to me so I doubt Ill switch from them.

Switched to a 3 pin last year, less confusion. Love my Spot Hogg Fast Eddie. You can even have pin color changed or change them yourself. I did the latter and now run .019 red, .019 green, .01 red. Set them at 20, 50 and 60.

Has anyone tried the axcel armortech HD 7 pin sight? Looking to upgrade my sights on my bow. I really enjoy my trophy ridge react 5 pin. But also looking to do some farther 3D shoots up to 80-100 yards. Still use this bow for hunting mule deer as well. Just curious if anyone has tried this sight. I appreciate any info all, thank you and happy fourth of July week!

My backup bow has the 5 pin version. They're a solid sight and my favorite for a fixed pin. 7 pins just end up being more than I like to sort through and I prefer to dial anything much past 60 yards. If you don't have a problem with the extra pins in the sight picture I'd say go for it.

I've gone to 3 pin sliders. 30,40,50. Inside 30 hold on the heart with the 30 pin. Top of the back with the 50 pin at 60 yards. So essentially I've got a 20-60 (same as I ran my 5 pins) but without the extra clutter. Past 60 and I dial. Never had an issue with more pins, I just can't ever leave stuff alone

I bought the black gold ascent verdict 3 pin slider yesterday. Playing around with it in the house & mounting it on the bow I really like it. It seems like a really well built piece. Going to the range in the morning to start dialing it in

I would say best site for the money might have to be the MBG Rush. You can get them for $100 new and cheaper used. 3 or 5 pins, set it and forget it. 100% no questions asked warranty to boot
