Montana elk help for double amputee friend
« on: June 05, 2019, 07:23:36 AM »
Looking for some advice on a reputable guide or land owner for an elk hunt for a double leg amputee from Maryland. We have received his Purple Heart tags from Montana and just want to make this a good experience. I don’t mind paying for land owner or guide service

I don't have any leads, but I don't mind helping out the financial aspect of things when you figure it out.  Good on you for helping.

Try https://www.fieldofdreamsinc.org/, they have helped with Montana hunts for nonresident Purple Heart vets before.

https://montanawoundedwarriors.org/ is only for Montana resident Purple Heart vets, but they may be able to help with information.

I'm a member of the Facebook group Hunting with Heroes Wyoming, you might contact them and see if they have a Montana contact.

Best of luck!

As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I just picked up an exclusive hunting lease on 10K acres. Have been told we have lots of elk on the northern property.  Stay in touch in you strike out elsewhere.  I was not planning on hunting that piece this year. Maybe I can get Ribka to go scout it out. It would be a DIY hunt with trespass fee that could possibly be waved for your cause.

Thanks for the replies, we had something worked out with another trespass fee lease and it fell through due to going to block management this year. So we are starting over this year. Last year we had a different double amputee and was able to get him his mule deer and antelope. This year we hope to make a memorable outing for Jon with a deer and elk tag. Both general season tags. Thanks for all the replies and we will keep up the search.
