NE WA Bird elevation question
« on: May 02, 2019, 07:39:43 PM »
I was wondering if anyone can tell me an elevation I should stay at or below for birds this time of year?  I have been over a few times over the years, mostly in the Little Pend Oreille Refuge area, and usually during youth season trying to get my boys their turkeys.  I think I am going to be able to make it over this coming week for a couple days, by myself, and I am doing a bunch of map scouting before hand.  Figured if there was an elevation level to stay under, someone that has more experience over there would know and I could probably rule out some areas.

Thanks for any input!

Lots of birds down low still. The breeding is in full swing.

Just returned from colville/kettle falls area. Birds were low, not much up in the lower timber. Hunt as low as possible and if you don't have  acces private, find areas that are adjacent. Oh, and there wasn't much talking after flydown.

I just got back from the Aladdin unit. I was running into Turks from 2,500 up to 3,600' while walking logging roads.

I also just got back from Kettle Falls/Colville and my experience was exactly the same as yours.
