I'm going to take this a different direction.
I agree every 7th grader should watch this. I also think all Europeans should as well. I'm not so certain that I would endorse saving them again. History, especially in Europe, repeats itself.
I'm seeing a bunch of self inflicting wounds happening all across that continent. I resent the holier than tho/we are so enlightened sentiment. If they get steam rolled By the Russians or the Muslim hordes, I wont support saving them.

I sincerely hope you are not serious.
Which part?
How am I supposed to feel?

That part.
When I watch movies like Saving private Ryan, or watch some of the old documentaries and compare that with how our "frends" act it makes me bitter.
I belive it is noble to help and save the oppressed and weak. I dont think it is our duty to cover for a population that makes poor decisions and is allowed to do so because of the shelter we provide.
I could give several current examples about NATO spending and such but we have discussed them on here before.
Perhaps 75 years after Normandy is too far for folks to remember and it is too easy to dismiss the connection. The European arrogance/dismissive nature of America is what really chaps my hide. Perhaps some of you remeber in 66 when Dean Rusk sec state was ordered by LBJ to ask French president DeGalle if the order to remove all American troops included the 60+k burried troops from WW1 & WW2.
My contempt comes from the obvious threats they face yet welcome these same shackles that will enslave them in the future.
