New String Cost? Single Cam
« on: May 07, 2019, 12:44:47 AM »
So I have been out of the archery game for a bit and am getting back into it this year with a multiseason tag.
I need to have my bow restrung. It is a single cam Fred Bear TRX 32.
Being in the Vancouver area, what would be the cost I would be looking at to get a new string and have it all put together? Would it save me much money to find a string myself and then take it in to a shop and have it put on, or just buy the string from the shop along side the service of installation?
Thank ya much

XXX Archery in Rainer charged me $120 for a new set of strings about 5 years ago, that included installation. I'm sure the price hasn't changed much. Nowadays I just order all my string from 60X and install them myself.

Just got mine done at Rock Creek. Dual cam bow. $120 for the strings and cables, $12 for peep and loop. That is all installed. That is a darn fair price in my experience. I would think that would be ballpark for your single cam.

It will cost right around  $140 to have a new bow string.
TRX32 is a good bow, I started out archery hunting with that exact bow years ago. If I remember correctly the IBO speed was around 307 fps. Remember to keep the string waxed.  Best of luck this season on the multi season tag.

Look up 60x strings.  They put out a quality product decent price and fast shipping.   Dont buy strings from a string maker you never heard of.  Vapor trail, winners choice, 60x are some decent name brands.
