Anyone gettin out?
« on: May 13, 2019, 10:51:49 PM »
Just curious if anyone is getting out there yet? I went out with my brother a short while back to try out some new gear for this fall. Gotta say I’m really lovin this tipi and stove setup! Anyone else out testing any new gear?

You have problems with your sleeping bag and what not smelling like smoke after a night with the stove running? My buddy has a three man that we stayed a couple nights in and my gear reeked of smoke.
They is where you aint and you aint where they is.

So if you have a floorless tent, and the snow is still receding, isn't the ground wet?  I just can't do that without a floor, but your set up looks really good!
“In common with”..... not so much!!

We were out last weekend testing the new Kodiak Canvas 10x14 flex bow.  It worked flawless and was very comfortable.

No they don’t smell like smoke.. nothing does actually. I’m pretty good at not letting the stove smoke you out of the tipi when re-loading it. The first time I used though, yeah it got a bit Smokey. I think I’ve got it dialed in a little better now and nope, no smoke smell on anything.

Hey thanks man! And in this spot it was actually pretty dry on the ground, but once the stove got to Cookin it really dried the entire inside out. Condensation building up on the walls of the tipi are a slight issue, but  i just wipe them down every now and again and it’s all good. I’m definitely digging the set up though.

Cool  it probably didn’t help that the first night he completely filled it with smoke, it was his first trip out with it  :chuckle: They are pretty slick though!

Cool pic!  IMO, the internal liners are worth the weight to pack in when it comes to condensation.  Also making sure to give extra ventilation, both top zips  down and spread open, both bottoms up 6-8" and keeping the bottom from sealing to the ground will help a lot.  I know it seems counterintuitive, but I've been using my 6 man in late season for a few years now and that's how I've been able to keep things dry inside with the stove.
