Are you limiting your research to them

I bought a 280 rem when they were first starting(super accurate) and very HEAVY. I have had one for my son(257 rob) for probably 8 years and it has been good not fantastic. Finally I bought a used one from my buddy who was high up in the company until about a year ago. It is a 300 win mag that he owned personally and its fantastic. I have been friends with him for 30 years and that's why I bought some guns from them but the company has been sold. My opinion is the guns just got better over the years they were in business but I don't know about the new ownership and if here has been much for changes. I wont buy anymore because of how the sale went down

FWIW navdoc, I've not owned MRC rifles but have been really happy with Cooper, also in Montana. :twocents:

I'm keeping my search to made-in-USA, wood stock, very accurate (most important thing to me), 30-06 caliber (I have a lot of reload experience with that caliber).  I have a winchester 70 sporter in 270 win and it's a very nice shooter-very accurate with nosler reloads.

I ordered a rifle and they fed me lies for months telling me it was almost done.
Finally got to a big cheese and they hadn’t even started. Canceled my order and will share the story any time I can.

Cooper would be top of my list for guns in that price range :twocents:
