I went today. Saw very few coho, and none in the box for us. My kid did release a nice king and lost another, both at coho depths with coho gear, so at least that was promising.

Down south the fishing has been really good.  Kings are bigger this year than normal.

My kid and I got into them on Sunday around the am low tide change.  They were deep - once we found them it was quick limits.

What part of 10 were you at?

John's facebook page is loaded with nice bubble nooks, I'm thinking about hitting that this weekend.

With the way fishing is headed in the NW is it even worth it to buy a boat?

You just have to define what you're going after.  Steelheading was a great fishery once - then everyone got into it.  Salmon was great once - then everyone got into it.

I'm sure MA10 will suck again at some point.

Perch is an unlimited fishery.
Crappie are doing wonderfully.
You can make money back on squawfish
Plenty of good walleye fisheries
Great bass fishing around the state
Stocker trout if that's your thing
Mackinaw and Kokes in Chelan
Big bows in Roosevelt

Oh yeah, and we also have salmon and steelhead.

There are and will be many salmon fisheries too, you just have to be flexible.  Whether it's netting, orcas, ocean conditions, river conditions, too much rain, not enough rain, water too warm, low oxygen levels, low expected returns to X or Y river, etc., the only constant is fisheries are always changing, and they have been for as long as I can remember.  And I can remember about 40 years' worth of WA salmon fishing.  On the whole, things are actually pretty good right now - they just may not be in the particular spot you would prefer to fish.

You just have to define what you're going after.

CR, Westport/Ilwaco, Sound salmon, crab, shrimp. Halibut, rock fish off the coast.

Looking at a used NR Seahawk, just don't like a lot of what I'm hearing about reduced limits, seasons, or closures.

This is a great state! If you are flexible and willing to trailer your boat you can chase something every day of the year. I’d add carp shooting, and shad on the Columbia to ctwiggs1’s list.
There is not enough wilderness left in the world, or in the hearts of men.

You can use a boat a lot more than a hunting rifle in this state.
