Riffe Lake Coho.
« on: June 04, 2019, 04:25:48 AM »
This was over the weekend but spent the day with my moms out fishing for landlocked coho at riffe. Water level seems to be up a bit. Managed to have my 5 within 40 mins then moms 5 came not too long after all off chrome and gold kastmasters.
Was a good day specially from the bank. Outfished most the guys on boats  :dunno:

Also gonna throw in a photo of my PBLM from the weekend also 4.2lbs

Thanks fellas, went out to chase "kokanee" and come to find out riffe dont even have kokanee. So talked to wdfw out there being as there was actually one at the park, All the "kokanee" are actually landlocked coho.  :dunno: News to me.
Even if so, it was a blast and got lots of good fillets.

Your right. A lot of people call them Kokanee but they are coho. Those are all fish that come through Cowlitz falls dam after the adults spawn in the upper Cowlitz! You did good up there. The bass fishing can be lights out too!

I tried a few spots for smallmouth but couldnt get any hookups. The bass are just barely post spawn so some are being picky. Got to sit over some beds and watch the pairs guard it was cool. Couldnt get anythink to bite so me ans my buddy kinda were skimmin the shallows 2-6ft and easily 6lb+ monster females just hangin out. I got one photo from my gopro i shoved under the dock but its poor.
