Aberdeen lake!?
« on: June 05, 2019, 09:37:34 PM »
Out here on the coast for work and decided to wet a line, pulled in 2 decent rainbow trout and according to wdfw website this lake holds trout triploid cutthroat large mouth bass and norther pikeminnow. Around the docks there were schools of some kind of fish, 12-16 inch very thin with a pronounced lateral line. I threw everything in my tacklebox at these things jigs spoons rooster tails blue fox vibrax curly tails sinkos power bait eggs and never could get any interest. Super clear water could see there every move but I'm tearing my hair out just wanting to know what the frick these things are! Any information or help would be great!

Where they dark or shiny with a pronounced line? They could be hatchery salmon?  :dunno: That Van Winkle Creek can be a riot during salmon season.... About now is the youth derby at Sylvia. Before spring break and for the derby they put some real bruisers in there.... if your looking for another spot...

Dark on top light on bottom below the lateral line. They look like a very slender bass with a small mouth but it's difficult to say without getting one in my hands

Spawning pikeminnows, they are behaving that way in lots of lakes right now.
