Colorado high buck back.
« on: June 07, 2019, 03:05:00 PM »
Just got my 2017 Colorado high country buck back from the taxidermist. This hunt was awesome and it kicked my ass. Though I trained pretty good for it but hunting at 12,000'-12,500' in elevation will kick your butt after a couple days. I saw bigger bucks but i didn't think I would be able to get them out of there. This was a solo hunt.

View from camp. The bucks were up and over the ridgeline in the upper lefthand corner of the picture.

Breakfast at 11,900' on my way up to the deer.

Buck I wanted and screwed up a stalk on.

my buck a few days before I got him.

Where he finally came to a rest after the shot.

finished product.

Nothing wrong with that buck.

Is that the synthetic velvet? Or were you able to save his? Great looking deer and I like the mount!

Thats the original velvet. If you see close ups, there are some areas that got banged up or rubbed off a little when he fell and the pack out.,

Not over the counter. Rifle hunt takes quite a few points to draw.
