Can’t seem to find a good map of the Selkirk unit, any ideas out there?  I have onX and I’m looking for a paper map that I can study on, I’ve talked w Dale about his map, it’s always a good way to go, but looking for a cheaper way for now. I went to the sporting good store and they didn’t have the Selkirk unit map, not sure I like those unit maps anyway.

Congratulations on the draw. I was lucky enough to have the Selkirk tag last year. I was given a lot of good information by other members. And as I promised, I would like to pay it forward with any information I can help you with. I found the best scouting tool was my mountain bike to access areas behind the gates and On X. Also the local people up in the area had a ton of good information and were more than willing to give their two cents. I made several trips to the area throughout the summer scouting and getting familiar with the unit from top to bottom. I did shoot a very nice bear while scouting one weekend and that just added to the experience. I did shoot a nice moose and as everyone said, I had an Awesome time. I will shoot you a PM and look forward to following along on your journey.

Priceless, thank you very much! I’m not far from greenwater so I’ll have to meet you for a beer at the tavern.

Not sure why you would charge at a moose shooting into the air. What was your next plan?  Cool fight though.

Not sure what that guy was thinking. I'm guessing he was just trying to keep from being trampled.

talked with a bio the other day, she says to buy bear spray!  She told me last year an employee was attacked by a grizz and it had her by the head!!  She was able to use her bear spray to get it off of her, she recommended spray before a pistol.  Wow! I never heard about that in the news!!
