and yes, lots of bear.   Dont get distracted eating hucks either.....ok, do!

THe threat of Grizz is real up there.   Be mindful.  Some of the most popular moose country is ground zero.

good point on the bear, and don't forget the bear test is required, you can find it in your online account main page

You can access the unit from the Idaho side too, just incase you didn't know that. You'll be right on the Eastside boundary.

Congrats,
Got my moose out of the Selkirk in 2011.  I will PM you some tips in the not to distant future when I have time and maps.  Saw fresh Grizz tracks during my hunt.  Also saw several blackies, one cinnamon phase that was probably the biggest I've ever seen.  Unfortunately he was not sticking around so no shot opportunity.  Plan this hunt with friends, once you have one on the ground, its an all on wrestling match to even roll the darn thing over.  I was unlucky in that my party of 5 dropped to 2 the day before I shot mine.  Talk soon.

Really great info, thank you guys a ton!! I have every other Friday off so I will be driving the 6 + hour drive over ther quite a bit, starting in a couple weeks.  Still hard to believe I’m researching my moose hunt in wa!  I need a good map, any advice? My phones memory is limited so I’m not sure I can download onXmaps, and my rhinos map is stupid small. Bought my tag yesterday !!  :IBCOOL:

Awesome to see a great contributing member of the forum draw this tag.  I'm excited for you - truly hope you have the hunt of a lifetime this year.

Scout for a camp, scout for your access points.  Dont be discouraged by the lack of animal citings.  Moose are almost completely nocturnal when its hot.  They do not like heat.   You wont be scouting for a bull per say.

Delete some crap on your phone and download the OnX maps dummy! Guarantee you have a pile of worthless pics on there just like everyone else. Also nuke any old areas on your OnX you aren't going to use. Old text messages etc.
