Last year they were rutting pretty hard the weekend leading up to opening day. The bull I shot opening day was definitely on a trail of a hot cow.

Grundy, did they require a tooth from your bull last year?  The letter in with my tag says I need to provide a tooth with the envelope included, my hunting partner and I never did get an envelope.  I'll just use an old spring bear one.

I had to send in both middle bottom teeth last year. You will probably have to get the actual envelope because they want measurements of the rack also. Plus those suckers are huge once you pull them all the way out of their jaw I don’t know that they would fit in the bear tooth envelope.

Yes they required a tooth. Mine came back as 9 years old. I was really surprised.

What's the general timing of when that usually happens in NE WA?  October 1?  Earlier?  Later?  I'll be there before, during and after the 1st, just curious on past hunters' experience.

Obviously weather, moon phase etc play a little part in it .but the years I've been in moose county actually looking for moose it's generally around Sept 30- Oct 3rd... couple years ago I was with a permit holder.. Oct 1 and 2nd it's was dead, the 3 rd I called in 4 moose before noon...

The 3 different years  I’ve been moose hunting in Eastern Washington we were there the weekend after the permits opened and bulls were fired up. October 5 or so I’d say.
Politicians like Jay Inslee are the reason we have the 2nd Amendment

Leave the electronic caller at home, get good with that bull magnet call and hold on.

Honestly would have to look it up, never crossed my mind to use one... but that bull magnet is all you need.
