That's good advice. Also, why not just try tracking them? You have fantastic tracking conditions right now. If you are on tracks that you know are fresh, track those baby's down. This is coming from a guy sitting in a 70 degree office, eating a bagel.

From what I experienced last week on a moose hunt in the same unit, most areas I wouldn't want to try and track a moose. It is steep and thick!  :yike:

Dress up as a Walmart door greeter.

The cows will come a running.

are you cow or bull calling?  If you are in an area where the bulls are cowed up....you will have a hard time calling the bull out.  Get close and grunt at him and hopefully he will come to fight.  The rut was strong last week.....hopefully it is still going strong for you.  Good luck....following and waiting to see the results.  The weather should be working in your advantage.

Keep at it, we're all pulling for you.  My cow hunt a few years ago was going miserably.  Weather was HORRIBLE, truck blew a fuel pump in the middle of nowhere, a cabin we rented had the septic tank back up into the bathroom the first night, etc, etc.  13 days and seen 1 moose, a small bull.  Then it just happened.  Wife spotted a cow, I put on a stalk on and game over.  It'll happen.  Stay upbeat and keep motivated.  Good luck.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

I’m 6 5 and get around in the woods fairly well, and “tracking a moose”.  That’s rich. 😆

Of course the last time I did it, it was in about 5 feet of snow, so I might be jaded a little

Like I said, that comment was coming from a guy that's never seen a moose, or hunted them, and was making that comment from my cozy office full of snacks. Is it just the terrain they live in with thick brush and trees that makes it so difficult? Doesn't seem the act of tracking them wouldn't be all that difficult? I'm just ignorant of it all I guess.

They are actually very lazy and prefer roads.

They are long legged beasts and can cover a lot of territory, no matter what stands in their way.   As Rob stated, they like to travel on roads. One of the reasons road hunting is a viable option to hunt or look for them.....but they can cover a lot of country when it strikes them.   Where tracking can be utilized is find their fresh tracks across or down a road, then go from there utilizing other methods, especially this time of year.

After tagging along on a hunt for 6 days and seeing lots of tracks, it was crazy how few we saw from the road given then miles we drove. Lots of the tracks would come up or down out of stuff that didn't look like a fawn would fit through and then walk the road for a while. Only thing that fresh tracks did for us was get us to call in more locations and closer together
