Huckleberry late bull moose tag in hand!
« on: June 20, 2019, 11:33:44 AM »
Hey guy's still can't believe I drew this tag with 11 points. I am pumped! November can't come soon enough. Now the planning and research begins. I live on the westside so scouting trips will probably be limited. As of now I am planning to hunt around the week of Nov 18th-22nd. Maybe some weekend trips beforehand. If anybody has any info on this hunt I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! I will definitely try to keep you updated with pictures and stories

My two cents, is I'd have a trip planned earlier in the year.  Couple reasons include bulls typically lose their horns towards the end of November, depending on snow access to certain areas where moose are might be difficult, in early november there will probably still be bulls rutting a little bit, I shot my bull on Oct 29th and he was in a herd of about 6-7 cows and there were three other bulls around.  If you aren't successful you only have one weekend left to get regrouped and make another run at it.  Being that it is OIL I'd want to try to maximize my chances of finding the bull you want.

Hunted this tag last year. Killed on day 2. We had seen 32 moose and 24 were bulls. As said above don’t wait to long. Good luck
