I see a lot of work coming up for the mods, moving crap for sale to the classifieds that is posted elsewhere cause they cannot use the classified board, and a lot of explaining going on just like this thread  :twocents:

I like the idea of a minimum post count, it gives me a chance to "feel" out a person if you will  I bought a ML from a member with very few posts and the item was NOT what was advertised. I know it was my fault for not looking closer but a guy cannot turn every screw and inspect every inch of something when your doing the deal the WM parking lot in the rain !! Come to think of it I have not seen them here since !!!

I wasn't talking about making a post commenting on peoples stuff like that in the classifieds. jesus christ.

If the only topic you read is the classifieds, you are missing a great deal.

Dave

Got more work to do at work so I dont get to read as much right now :)   I start with the classifieds, unless I am looking for info a specific topic.

Well if you haven't figured out the reason he is implementing this rule by now there was nothing I was going to say to make it clear. By the way, I prefer Swarovski ;)

It would be intresting to know what board was the persons first exposure to Hunting Washinton.    I know I found it because a guy at work passed on a classifed ad from here when I was looking for a shotgun.   So my very first post read was a classified post.

I read why he is doing it.  Then I accidentally read your "reasons" for him doing it.    My bad.

:nono: You are right, it is your bad. Go ahead and post my quote where I explained the reasons for him doing it...........thats right I didn't. Dont put words in my mouth :nono:

If the only reason they are joining this site is to take advantage of the number of members then who really cares if they dont join

Nice try, go back and read what I was replying to, and the future members being detered has nothing to do with a reason why either.

Well that is the point isnt it? If the only reason they are joining this site is to take advantage of the number of members then who really cares if they dont join, not me :twocents:

Wanting to BUY something from the classified section is taking advantage of the members here........ Please explain.

Here's a question that must have slipped by you huntnphool.

one flaw i see in the whole thing.... If you dont have 50 post you cant read the classifed boards...so how would you know there was something on there you wanted to buy?

Personally,  I agree with the decision.

I believe if you look back at my first post it was in the classifieds.  Most of my posts ARE in the classifieds but... that's because I'm a single guy, I like guns, and I really like reloading now so my only issue is I have this green *censored* burning a hole in my pocket.

It may or may not present the site as less attractive to new members, however... the site has a decent base and I'm sure it's more of a word of mouth thing these days.  Some guys come here to look for stuff, some come here to learn stuff.

Is it possible to make it visible, but without 50 posts be unable to post at all?  This way it would be at the user's discretion to sell to somebody?

Edit- Correction, it seems I posted in Guns N Ammo first. :)

That is an unfortunate consiquence of the rule, but sometimes you have to take the good with the bad.
