This is the second elk that I have got on the camera with hoof rot, a cow last fall and now this small bull.
Very sad

I thought they were going to, but in typical WDFW style, they first have to spend $$ on a facility to study it, waste time waiting for the construction to be completed.
Waste more time and $$ hiring staff and purchasing equipment.
Then ask for more money for studying the cause because they don't have enough.
Then decide that the facility is outdated because of how long it took to complete construction, and now they need more $$ to build a new one.
.
Meanwhile everyone will complain about the lack of elk on public access lands (no fee), and the increase in license costs for the few elk that have managed to survive.

That is a very nice looking area, too bad the rot has affected it. :bash:

I was glad to see that the project was given to WSU for the lead instead of staying with. Jonker at DFW. However, I believe a large portion of the funding is still coming from Weyerhauser and their chemical companies.
