A valid reason in my opinion, not sure it would work with my wife though.

Getting all my gear resituated, then heading up to the happy hunting grounds tonight so i can wake up and get started on tag #2 at daybreak.  Good times.

Called in a young, lean boar on Sunday in the Colockum with a call I bought from Rick on here last year, and my son in law dumped him!  First time I have ever called in a bear, it was a lot of fun, can't wait to do it again!

Right on, go whack another!  Bringing them in with a hand call sure is satisfying.  Did he come in real sneaky, or charging in?
 How far of a shot?
Hoping we can get lion opener august 1st next year, that ought to encourage more people to get out calling. Im unable to hunt this week.  Back at it friday morning.  :mgun:

So there was some luck involved here, I know you're supposed to call about 30-60 minutes for bears, but I was a little winded at 30 minutes, so I stopped.  We stood up, and I hear, "Hey, there's one right there!"  He was a couple hundred yards above us in the wide open looking very intently for his dinner!  But he got lead instead!  Great learning experience I hope to do again soon!  And thanks Bango, your photos and encouragement on this subject have been a great motivation.

Sounds like he was playing it cautious.  Wonder how many times ive had bears or cats coming in real careful and i gave up too early.  Hard to stay confident and keep going after calling for 30 or 40 minutes and not getting any action.  Im sure ive probably screwed up by bailing on sets too soon.

Got back up in the mountains this afternoon.  Found a real good area to call.  Hucks, service berries, thimble berries all growing good.  Water near by.  Several piles of crap.  Did 2 calling sessions.  No takers, but the area is right.  Ill be picking up where i left off at day break.  Got a real good feeling about this area.

Pretty fresh bear sign?

Just drop one.  Already got a nice boar.  Actually hoping for a smaller bear, preferrably a sow.

Sounds like a good plan. With two tags everyone should be treating at least one of them as a first bear you see tag.

I've managed to get out once in a super promising area, but it only had bear crap from several years ago so didn't see anything fresh.  Working too much OT  :(

but I'll get out this weekend, soon as I replace the refrigerator that just went out  :bash:

Hoping to get back soon and start the hunt.  Seem to have fewer in the cameras now.  Did have a sow with small cubs walk thru.
