Well hillhound, thats pretty impressive.  Stiff competition, pardon the pun.  Lets see how it stacks up!

Main beam : 6 1/8
Girth, i mean mass : 4/8

Total b&c score 6 5/8

Well I need to dig through my reloading stuff so I could get a more accurate measurement so I don’t think my entry will qualify until I get it officially scored  :). But green score looks like it’s about 6 7/16 inches long and it’s girth is 9/16th of an inch. So I am at least close to the 7 inch minimum

Great.  Now I know where to set my goal.  Not sure how to pre-score before that shot.  Ideas?  :dunno: >:(

My new WMD has arrived.  .444 marlin.  I put a brake on it for now, will be getting the ball rolling on a suppressor soon.  I have an RPP synthetic stock set for it that ill put on tomorrow, then im going to have the stupid parkerized finish stripped off and get this thing cerakoted.  Going to knock the hell out of some bears this year.

Trying to decide on the cerakote.  Stock ill be putting on it is black.  Thinking of doing a 2 tone od green / matte black cerakote job.  But may go coyote tan / matte black.  Dont want to be too rash making the decision.  A gun this stupid should at least look sexy.  Dont think there are a lot of suppressed, synthetic stocked, cerakoted lever guns out there.  I think im going to get banned from the marlinowners forum for this abomination.  :chuckle:

Its really a sweet gun, and the remlins are actually coming out in good working order now since remington got a new facility and machinery for the marlin guns.  And qc seems to have improved tremendously.  But i really think they missed the mark with the parkerized finish, and they should have come out with a synthetic stock by now.  But luckily RPP just came out with a synthetic stock set a few months ago.  I ordered mine the day they came out, before i could even find one of these guns for sale.  If you cant tell, im pretty excited.  Counting down the days until i get to go call some bears.  Wont be taking the 70 year old .30-30 out in rainy spring weather.
