Cerakote is amazingly tough when applied correctly. If not applied correctly which 2/3s of smiths I personally know don’t follow the steps then it’s not as effective. If you had it done by a cerakote certified smith and it flakes I’m quite certain cerakote themselves warranty it. At least that’s what we were told in gunsmithing school. Someday I’d like to attend the training to be certified but that’s awhile down the line.
Ive found one certified cerakote place in spokane, liquid transformations. Not to be confused with liquid river graphics that did my .460. If anybody has personal experience with liquid transformations, shoot me a pm, id like to hear a review.
I would say you could do it yourself ,ceracoat,duracoat,whatever,won't give ya link.But will say brownells sells them all.
Waiting on this project to finish cure right now.
