If youre new to predator calling and dont want to spend a bunch of money, why not just get a lung powered call for now? They work just fine.
A remote caller will make calling in tighter cover easier. One of the lower end callers FoxPro, Lucky duck, Western Rivers, etc. will work fine for a starter. As you grow in your pursuit of predators you will learn what features appeal to you and would be useful.I still use a 20+ year old Minaska Bandit for a goto caller for tight cover, I also have a FP CS-24 and crossfire. The CS-24 comes out in big open country and the Crossfire rides along as a back up(I won it).A large sound library isn't needed, I rarely use more than a dozen sounds through the whole season.
I've been by happy with my Lucky Duck Rebel, which I paid $120 for. I just now Googled it though, and see it on one site for under $60. That would be a purchase you definitely won't regret. The sound quality is exceptional, and it comes with a decoy. Only has 12 sounds but they pretty much cover any kind of predator hunting you'll do.
