It'd be nice if there was someplace centrally located that was easily accessible and safe. Say...somewhere around Ellensburg.  I agree about the timing. It's getting to be pretty iffy with fire season coming up.

BTW, I was joking about the pink slips thing. I just love long range shooting and helping people learn how they can improve their shooting.

When you guys figure out a time and place I may be down to venture over from the coast...it's hard to find places to shoot over here and would be fun to meet up for a shoot and see how bad I am against everyone  :chuckle: I just stretched out my new rifle to 900 and I can tell I'm already getting hooked..it's a blast to shoot long

I know about a dozen spots around yakima/kittitas counties where a grand plus is attainable for rock busting. Problem is al WDFW lands and BLM are now closed to recreational shooting.

Sounds fun, but tend to agree. Wrong time of year to get a good response. Also agree, make it a fun shoot, a teaching/learning from some, and not a d#@k measuring competition. Karl Blanchard had a point for sure😉

Agreed.  Should be a learning/teaching thing. First week of June is often a great time to be out shooting.  Not much fire danger only season open is spring bear.  Let’s make it fun not a contest. Maybe not just a grand either but 300,400,500,ect.  Start short and move out so every skill set has a chance.   Maybe start with a zero. Should come up with some rules for safety
https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

The commission shall attempt to maximize the public recreational game fishing and hunting opportunities of all citizens, including juvenile, disabled, and senior citizens.

Yup. Many of us have steel...set a 12 inch at 200...confirm dope, shoot, spot, call shots, brag and belittle.  Move to 300, repeat!

H20 knows my awful lack of rifle skills and would probably agree I've likely got a better shot at hitting something at 200 with the bow than the gun. Needless to say if this pulls together it sounds like a good chance to improve a bit at longer range shooting.
