I never found my bear.  Hes dead there somewhere.  I went back today, laid down to take a nap where i shot him before the search.  Woke up to the sound of some knucklehead blasting some awful sounding ecaller at 1000 decibels maybe a couple hundred yards up from the hellhole the bear ran into.  Dont know what the sound was, constipated basset hound maybe.  Decided messing around in that brushy mess with some dude with a rifle above me was probably a bad idea.  Meat is spoiled by now anyways, not worth risking getting shot over to keep looking.  Ill be back hunting tuesday morning.
So you shot a bear, certain it died, never found it, so you're going to shoot another one?

It's happened to all who have hunted for any amount of time.  No reason to kick a guy when he's down.  I would be comfortable with knowing I gave it my all top try to recover the animal.  Best of luck this season Bango!

I have full faith and confidence that bango gave it all he could in finding that bear, as good as anyone on this forum, and I wish him luck in anchoring his next bear!

Three.  Bango is the real deal.

By the way, does FoxPro have a "constipated basset hound" setting?

Same thing happened to me this spring. I hunted the rest of the weekend, came back the following weekend, still couldn’t find the bear, so maybe he didn’t die. Until you find the animal you never know. I’ll be hunting this fall with the same unpunched tag.

Soon, very soon.  Would like to get my first.  Probably will only plan for one.  Only want what two of us can eat.  Hoping for a variety of meat this year.

We didn’t see a bear, but did see 5 moose including 1 bull.  Pretty hot this weekend, need to learn how to call bears in.
“In common with”..... not so much!!
